During April Marianist communities worldwide celebrated the 250th anniversary of Fr. Chaminade's birth with prayer, food, and fun. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I'm sharing a few snapshots of global celebrations starting with my own city of Cincinnati, OH. Below that you will see how a few other communities in our Region celebrated; and below that are scenes from around the rest of the world. Mass at P�rigueux,
P�rigueux is the hometown of P. Chaminade. The Mass was celebrated by the bishop. Fr. Manolo Cortes, Superior General and more than 30 Marianist priests concelebrated.

FEASTS: May 12, Mary, Mother of Graces and Mediatrix
This memorial reminds us of the May 12, 1865 anniversary of Pope Pius IX approving the Society of Mary. It also calls us to give thanks for the commendation of the Society of Mary and the Daughters of Mary Immaculate by Pope Gregory XVI on April 12, 1839.
