A Christmas Message from Haiti
Fr. Florian Royer-Chabot, who is now back in Haiti, has sent a lovely video Reflection on the Nativity and the Empty Crib. Let us pray that we can also bring Jesus back to the world.

New Virtual Learning Courses announced

Mary, Holy Possibilities: Encounter Mary as our gift from God. Mary will become our teacher, a woman of challenge, and our companion on our journey as we continue to grow in holiness. (Course will be offered January 23-February 26 and August 7-September 10, with registration December 20-January 19 and June 21-August 3, respectively).

System of Virtues: Reflect on prayerful and practical ways to incorporate the virtues of Jesus into our daily lives and utilize the virtues to open ourselves to the grace of the Holy Spirit and the presence of Mary. (Course will be offered January 23-February 26 and June 19-July 23 with registration December 20-January 19 and May 3-June 15, respectively).

Three Offices: Based on a talk by Joseph Stefanelli SM, this course reminds us the Three Offices are more than an ingenious organizational tool for Marianist communities; we are also challenged to be Christ in the world. (Course will be offered March 13-April 16 and August 7-September 10, with registration January 25-March 9 and June 21-August 8 respectively).

Visit VLC/University of Dayton for detailed course descriptions and registration. Contact Patti Gehred for specific information on our Marianist Courses.

prayinghands 2Let us Pray
  • We just received word from Julie Ahern (Regional Responsible for Australia) that "One of our Family of Mary members, Maureen Cornell, died and will be buried tomorrow. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and may she rest in your Light and Love." There are only 10 lay Marianists in Australia so this is an especially big loss.
  • We continue to pray for the people of Korea that the tension between North and South be resolved peacefully.
  • For the people of the Ivory Coast, including our brother and sister Marianists, that the violence may cease and the election be resolved with justice. (Although the Ivory Coast is in another region, we are all part of the Marianist Family.)

Feasts: January 10 -  Venerable Adle de Batz de Trenquellon Adele                                  Anniversary of her death - 1828

"Adle did not set out to be a model for anyone. She sought
only to do the will of her loving God. And, like the Mother of
Jesus 1,800 years earlier, in so doing she allowed God to do
great things in her. Her life, her work, and especially her ideas
and her ideals can continue to inspire us today."
