"Making Copies" - Burr Photocopy Squad
Help out when you have a few free minutes!
Ever have a spare minute or two when coming and going from Burr?  We invite you to join our team of parent photocopying helpers!  This is a PTO project where many hands make for light work.  Saving our teachers little bits of time here and there by assisting them with office tasks gives them increased time and energy to focus more on the creative parts of their roles as teachers.

We invite you to stop by the main office anytime and take 5 minutes to help out with photocopying when you have a chance. The jobs await you above the teachers' mailboxes.  Even if there are several jobs waiting and you can only do ONE, that's great!

Here's what you do:
  • Sign in on the clipboard
  • Grab a job (the teachers fill out request forms with instructions)
  • Head to the photocopier
  • Put the completed job in the teacher's mailbox

It's easy, it's quick, and it helps our teachers. Check it out sometime!

If you have any questions, or would like to help with larger projects to support our teachers, please contact Lisa Dallaire at lisa.dallaire@state.ma.us.

Buy Your Groceries - And Give to Burr!
Unfortunately, Shaws has discontinued their Community Rewards program. But good news!  Stop & Shop still runs a terrific program that allows a portion of every purchase to be sent right to Burr School. Just email your Stop & Shop rewards card number to Margaret Crook at gmcrook@rcn.com and she can sign you up, or click here to learn more.  PLEASE NOTE: even if you registered last year you need to re-register every year.

So, if you've never been to Stop & Shop, we honestly find it's a better shopping experience, so consider giving them a try! Thank you!

CAP Volunteers Needed
As you may know the delivery of the CAP program in Kindergarten and grades 2 and 5 is accomplished through the dedicated volunteer service of community members, many of whom are parents in the local schools. With the three day training scheduled to begin on Friday Oct. 22, I ask for your help in recruiting new volunteers. Please include the attached newsletter blurb through Oct. 18 as many times as your policies permit. I welcome other suggestions for getting the word out.

For more information about CAP, please visit our website www.ncscweb.org.
