Inauguration Day Tomorrow
Grades 2-5 will watch Inauguration at Burr
Book SwapTomorrow from 11:30 - 12:30, students in grades 2 through 5 will be gathered to watch the historic inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States!   
Burr Winter Concert
Wednesday, Jan 21 at 7:00 pm
 
A Winter Concert for Burr parents and families will be held this Book SwapWednesday, Jan 21 at 7:00 in the  Cafetorium.  Performing are the Grade 4 chorus, Burr School Band, beginning instrumentalists, and the "Lunch Bunch".

Children who are part of the concert should arrive at 6:45pm in concert attire (white top, black pants or skirt, nice shoes). Musicians need to bring their instruments and music. Clarinetists bring extra reeds! Brass players remember valve oil and slide grease!  The concert should last approximately 45 minutes.
 
*** Please park in the teacher parking lot -- and be kind to our Pine Street neighbors: do not block driveways or park illegally. ***

(Note: The RHD Committee alternates meeting times between afternoons and evenings to accommodate as many schedules as possible.)

The Burr Respect for Human Differences (RHD) Committee is a group of parents and teachers who work on our school community's growth toward respect for human differences, one of the core values of our Newton Public Schools.  Current projects include anti-bullying initiatives, an adult book group, and our annual celebration of World Cultures.

Clothing Drive - looking for 3 more items
winter coatSchool psychologist Julie Gold would like to thank everyone again for their response to the clothing drive in December.  Julie is looking for three additional items to help families in need this winter: two size 10 boys winter coats and one size 8 or size 10 boys snowpant.  If you are able to help with any of this items please contact Julie directly at julie_gold@newton.k12.ma.us.  Thank you!
