The class basket contribution deadline is this Friday! If you are struggling with what to donate to your theme basket, please know that it is totally OK to simply forward a monetary contribution between $10 and $20! Questions? Please contact Stacey Moriarty at 617-969-4891 or Allison Hausman at 617-796-9811.
Our big need right now is for auction items and ads. If you are willing to solicit a few businesses please contact burrauction@yahoo.com and we will provide a list. Your efforts would be GREATLY appreciated.
Lastly, please remember that we are asking each family to donate at least one item to be auctioned off. The deadline for these donations is December 1st. Thanks for your support! |
| Election Day Bake Sale - Bakers Needed! |
|
The PTO will be holding a bake sale on election day, November 4th. These bake sales are very good fund-raisers and a lot of fun. We need donations of baked goods--homemade or store bought--and coffee donations. You can drop your donations off at any time during the election day or evening; the bake sale will be going on the entire time the polls are open, from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Please come and visit us, right outside of the cafetorium. Donate goodies, buy goodies, and don't forget to vote!
Questions? Contact Erika Drezner at egdrezne@yahoo.com or 617-332-3076. |
| Newton Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
Next Meeting Weds, Nov 5, 7:30 pm |
|
Would you like to know about the many educational options that are offered within the Newton Public Schools? Assistant Superintendent of Student Services Judy Levin-Charns, Ed.D. will outline Newton's current Special Education programs. There will be breakout groups for more detailed discussion about preschool, elementary, middle and high school programs. All PAC meetings take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Education Center, 100 Walnut Street, Newtonville, in Room 210. The Newton Parent Advisory Council (PAC) on Special Education serves as a liaison between parents of students with special needs and school district administrators. As mandated by Massachusetts law, we provide feedback to the district on special education programs and policies, and participate in their planning and development. For more information, see the PAC website, contact us at info@newtonpac.org, or contact Burr Sped PAC representative Erika Drezner at egdrezne@yahoo.com or 617-332-3076. |
| School Committee Survey on Security
Please give your input! |
|
| The School Committee has appointed a subcommittee to review system-wide security policies and to make recommendations to the School Committee on how to deal broadly with security issues. That subcommittee, chaired by School Committee vice-chairman Marc Laredo, has prepared a draft policy and has had discussions about how specific security measures then might be implemented. The School Committee is scheduled to vote on the policy in November. This survey is designed to seek community input on some of the areas under discussion. The School Committe is hoping to get a lot of input from parents, so please click here to participate in the survey! |
