Family Picture Days
Coffee Pond Photography is pleased to offer Burr families an opportunity to have family pictures taken outdoors at the Auburndale Cove.  Sessions are available on Saturday, October 11, Saturday October 18, or Saturday October 25.  (Rain dates on Sundays 10/12, 10/19 and 10/26).

The Fundraising Fee for a sitting is $50.00, which will be donated in its entirety to Burr.  Coffee Pond also requires a $35.00 Administrative Fee at the time of booking.  So for 85 bucks, you get an outdoor photo shoot with a great photographer in a lovely setting ( similar shoots easily cost $200 or more for the sitting fee!), and the PTO gets $50 toward great programs for our school and kids.

If you have questions or would like to book a session please contact Betsy Bassett at 617-332-8072 or email her at bbassett@rcn.com.  We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!
Makin' Copies!
We are still looking for additional parents to round out the photocopying 'squad'.  This is a quick and easy way to help out our teachers - giving them increased time and energy to focus more on the creative parts of their roles as teachers.

Squad members stop by the main office when available and take 5-10 minutes to help out with photocopying jobs that the teachers have left.  That's it!

If you have any questions, or would like to help with this or other projects to support our teachers, please contact Nancy
Caulfield at (617) 964-6644 or
caulfieldn@aol.com.
Astrid Lindgren Event
October 5, 2008, 2 - 4 PM
The Scandinavian Living Center (206 Waltham St. West Newton) invites all elementary school children in Newton to come play games based on Astrid Lindgren's books, learn about the author, and about Pippi Longstocking and other characters from her books.  The program will also include information about Swedish culture, craft table for making orange wigs and story telling.  Swedish treats will be served and every child participant will receive a participation certificate.

Parents may park on Waltham Street or in the large parking lot by Waltham Street at the Fessenden School. In case of rain, games will be played in the new JV basketball gym on the south side of the Fessenden campus.

The program is free and open to all elementary school children in Newton. Parents should be sure to bring cameras to capture the fun.
