Camp Twin Lakes - February 2011

Straight From The Source

A Few Words From The Heart

"When I was born I was expected to die in 2 weeks because of my sickle cell. I used to live in Minnesota, now in Atlanta. When my 5 doctors introduced me to Camp New Hope Ifishing was happy. My mom just signed me up! Now I don't feel like an outsider because I am the only one in my school with sickle cell."

"Camp Twin Lakes changes kids' lives. Seeing other kids who have been in your situation and knowing that you're not alone out there being sick is a wonderful thing. Because they're sick, a lot of these kids haven't done a lot of stuff. So they get to do a lot of things for the first time at Camp."
