Greetings!

Sincerely, Ron Grant
Why Have A Moving Policy?

The primary purpose of a moving policy is to reduce and control the cost of relocation.

A moving policy can be tiered for senior executives, mid level managers or entry level personal. Or you may decide on a policy that fits all.

Things to consider when writing a moving policy...
  • What do you want to authorize? IE one auto, two autos?
  • Storage in transit and how long?
  • Do you want to authorize boats, canoes, camper trailers? This can get very costly depending on the mileage and weight additives.
  • Specialized auto in van transport for exotic autos? Usually this costs about 30% more than a normal auto carrier.
  • What about frozen foods, pets, hot tubs and pool tables?

I think you get the point. There are several accessorial expenses that can make the cost of a move get out of control. For instance; we've had requests to move hay, firewood and even exotic marine life.

Please call (503) 542-7121 or email me if you have questions or would like help composing a moving policy.
