Small Caramel CornPopcorn Money Due
at December Roundtable

As our Fall Popcorn Sale comes to a close, we would like to thank all of our participating units, Unit Kernels and District Kernels.   Pleas note the next important dates below:

All payments are due at your December Roundtables so commission checks can be  presented at the January 2012 Roundtable meetings.

We have scheduled our "Top Producers" recognition event (formerly Fill It Up event)  for Saturday December 10th.  We will be attending a UO vs. Fresno State Basketball game at the NEW Matt Knight Arena, preceded by a Pizza dinner and a tour of the Arena facilities.

On another note we have added an additional incentive for all new Online sales between November 1st and December 31st.  The top salesman with a total above $250 will receive a $50 Wal-Mart gift card.  So please encourage your Scouts to get back on line for one more opportunity.  All sales will count for potential new Trail's End Scholarship program qualification ($2,500 in sales in one year).

Volunteer Recognition Dinner

Join us Saturday, February 4th for our Annual Recognition Dinner. We will be honoring our Silver Beaver recepients, and Scoutmaster of the year. The Silver Beaver is the highest award a Council can bestow on a volunteer.
Our dinner will be at the Holiday Inn Express in Springfield, and the cost is $25.

Please click here for a nomination form. Forms can be filled in and printed or submitted online. Thank you for taking the time to nominate a worthy volunteer.

Community Service                                        Willamette River Clean Up Troop 22

Troop 22 teamed up with R.E.I and the Eugene stream team, to clean up the Willamette River with about 200 other volunteers from the area.

What a great event. The boys had a blast and had a great feeling of accomplishment knowing their help prevented the "garbage" from being washed into our local river!

Send us info on your unit's service projects!   Send a brief description and photos to:cotto@otcbsa.org

To log community service hours, units need to establish their account on the Journey to Excellence service hours website:

http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/Awards/JourneyToExcellence.  Here you will find good information about logging service hours and also about the Journey to Excellence award.  Part of the log in process for unit leaders involves knowing the unit's id number.  This number is available by contacting the council office at 541-485-4433. Units should identify one leader or parent to be in charge of logging hours.
