That's Right! Great beauty can be found in simple things

That's Right! Joy comes from within

Of late, I have been pondering the very human paradoxical trait of desiring deep and enduring relationships while simultaneously striking out on one's unique path of transformation - which is a very personal, empowering journey that must be walked alone.

This is not to say that spiritual work is less potent for those engaged deeply in family, community and love but only that, ultimately, part of our spiritual work is to cultivate the ability to stand strong in our personal integrity while respecting the paths of others.

I have a tendency to be a loner, to delve deep into the mysteries and absorb the writings of those who have walked before me. I learn just as much from watching Mockingbirds tussle over a nest as I do from engaging in silent meditation... but it's the people in my life who offer the greatest opportunity to connect with the one source of all love.

So my thought today is to suggest that we strive for a conscious blending of those two modalities. Allow yourself the personal time that is needed to realign your balance each and every day - perhaps even sporadically throughout the day, step out of the world and into the presence of the light within you. Then, engage with intention. Open your intuition and receive knowledge from co-workers, family members, strangers in the marketplace. Their personal path of transformation is likely far different from yours; however, that's the beauty and challenge of Relationship.

Today my intent is to be comfortable with the aspects of my own journey... to share my insights when asked, to be silent and observant in the present moment and most importantly,  to witness whatever life offers with respect and adoration.
