Narrative Practice: Eliciting Story
|
Wednesday, May 18, 2011
SMC Campus Center, Room 349
9:00 am - 3:30 pm
Registration is required.
The Event is FREE to all UMB students, faculty and staff.
Sponsored by the CCLC, PAACAA and the Wellness Hub.
Why do stories matter? How can we artfully elicit them? How do we honor their intimacy while maintaining professionalism?
Join the artists of the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange for a day-long workshop designed for professionals that need or want to gather stories--and insight--from their clients in the course of their work. Through the lens of art and movement, you will learn techniques for skillfully and respectfully eliciting stories, reading non-verbal cues, and unearthing multiple meanings for both listener and teller.
Founded in 1976, Dance Exchange offers a unique brand of dance/theatre that breaks boundaries between stage and audience, theater and community, movement and language, tradition and the unexplored.
