All graduating students who had Federal Student Loans while attending UMB are required to complete Exit Counseling before leaving the University. There are 15 more sessions scheduled. Upcoming sessions are Friday, March 25th at noon and 5 pm and Thursday, March 31st at noon, all three sessions are in SMC CC 349. Please bring two copies of the Borrower Information Sheet and printed confirmation of complete online Direct Loan Exit Counseling with you to the sessions.

Marion Nestle was named Paulette Goddard Professor in the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health, and professor of sociology at New York University. Her degrees include a PhD in molecular biology and an MPH in public health nutrition, both from the University of California, Berkeley. In 2003, Food Politics won awards from the Association for American Publishers (outstanding title in allied health), the James Beard Foundation (literary), and World Hunger Year (Harry Chapin media).

Building on last year's success, it's time for the Interdisciplinary Patient Management Competition (IPMC) - bigger and better than ever!

 

Teams will have a representative from each participating school - Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, & Social Work - through collaboration teams will put their knowledge of their respective specialties to the test in order to create the best care plan for a (simulated) patient!

 

This opportunity is a great way to make new friends in different schools and start preparing for what the workforce will be like - balancing information, opinions, specialties, and personalities.

7th Annual Wing-A-Thon

Wing-A-Thon 2011 is a charity buffalo wing eating contest, in which teams of 5 students compete to eat as many wings in 30 minutes while raising money for the University of Maryland Greenbaum Cancer Center. This year, Buffalo Wild Wings will provide the delicious wings.  If interested in forming a team, email kappapsi.wingathon@gmail.com

 

Costs $10 for students and $16 for non-students to compete, which includes wings and an event t-shirt.  Cash prizes for winning team! Raffle prizes include autographed puck by Michal Neuvirth from the Washington Capitals, Spirit lunch cruise for two, gift cards, and more! Team's "cheerleaders" get into event for free, so students from all UMB schools are encouraged to participate or to attend the event.

Financial Aid Graduation Cap w/Cash

Students seeking Summer Financial Aid or Summer Work Study should file a request form by April 15th with our office; additionally, students wishing to Study Abroad or who need a Summer Consortium Agreement need to submit their forms by April 1st. Please note that a minimum of six credits is required to receive Financial Aid in any semester, including the summer.
