AAMC Annual Meeting Logo
LCMS+ had a great showing at the AAMC Annual Meeting in Denver. We spent a lot of time with leaders from schools like Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. All smart folks with unique challenges and high hopes for the future of academic medicine.

Curriculum mapping was on everyone's minds, especially given the increased scrutiny and expectations of the LCME in this regard. All our visitors were very excited by how LCMS+ maps goals and objectives and core competencies to your curriculum, so you can prove what you taught, where you taught it and how it was assessed - thereby keeping a smile on the faces of the LCME.

Curriculum mapping is just one of the many features that kept our booth one of the busiest on the floor! If you'd like to learn more about how LCMS+ can help make your job easier, just shoot us an email.

LCMS+ Now Offers Full-Text Search

Search

LCMS+ can now index any text-based document that is uploaded to the system. This includes MS Word and PowerPoint files, spreadsheets and PDFs. Your search results will link back to the original document and also show where that file is being utilized. You can download the file or go straight to the event or course that contains the file.

Our Question Bank Goes Both Ways
Now you can push questions straight from exams into the master question bank and vice-versa

Question bank entries are traditionally created either by searching for existing questions and adding them to the bank, or by entering new questions. Then you can populate your exams with the questions of your choice.

But what about a great question that already exists on an exam, that you want to put back into the question bank?

Now LCMS+ allows you to go both ways. You can pull questions from the bank to your exams, and you can push exam questions back into the bank. It's one more example of how LCMS+ offers you the most fully-integrated curriculum management system for medical education.

What's Happening in MedEd
The rankings that can rankle:
USN&WR and Deans discuss methodology
for naming "top"medical schools

Mount Sinai School of Medicine and U.S. News and World Report recently collaborated on a summit to discuss how USN&WR determines its annual ranking of medical schools. It's the first time USN&WR has talked publicly about this topic with the leaders of the schools being ranked.

It was a frank and fascinating discussion; Mount Sinai gives you their report and you can read another take on it from the head of Data Research at USN&WR.

Finally, in the more thoughtful spirit of the upcoming holiday season, we want to share this wonderful address by Clare Gerada, Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners, courtesy of Vital Speeches of the Day.

While it is UK-specific in many regards, we hope that its universal question of "What brought us to this profession?" offers you the opportunity for reflection and renewal of your own commitment to your patients, your students and your discipline. Enjoy this quick read, along with our best wishes for a meaningful holiday season no matter what you might be celebrating.
