We are very pleased to announce that Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Tanzania has selected LCMS+ as its curriculum management system for undergraduate medical education. With a plan to "revolutionize medical education" in Tanzania, KCMC is instituting a five-year medical program, to be run by Duke faculty, in an expansion of their long-time partnership with the Duke Global Health Institute. We are proud to partner with KCMC to improve health care education and leadership in Tanzania, which is one of the target countries for President Obama's Emergency Plan for AIDS relief and the President's Malaria Initiative. Feature Focus: Exam System
We've heard a lot of chatter out there lately about the challenge of finding an adequate exam system for MedEd. The exam system built into LCMS+ can simultaneously accommodate 200 students or more (based on your system hardware) and offers you the features you really need:
- an integrated question bank
- an integrated item analysis suite which generates a point bi-serial reliability coefficient for each question in an exam
- a scorecard by course with an integrated upload feature
- randomized questions and responses
- password protection
- customized access times
- questions and responses which can contain an unlimited number of images or other multimedia resources
- question types including true/false, multiple choice, matching, multiple select, free text, short answer, essay and fill-in-the-blank with pre-defined range of correctness
- custom question types and many more customizable functions
It also provides tools for monitoring exams in real time and conducting post-exam discussions, as well as re-scoring, eliminating questions and creating multiple correct answers on the fly.

Campus librarians: The future of ed tech
According to Joshua Kim, director of learning and technology for the Master of Health Care Delivery Science Program at Dartmouth College, "the future of campus computing belongs to the librarians and the libraries, and that is a very good thing." We couldn't agree more!
Many campus librarians have been catalysts in the adoption of LCMS+ and have inspired us with their service orientation and collegiality, two of the qualities that Dr. Kim cites as essential in academic technologists. At LCMS+, that's our philosophy too - we're here to help you make the most of your curricular data, and we do that with a smile on our faces.
Read Dr. Kim's BlogU post to learn about the other skills and talents that today's librarian has to offer. Are you making the most of this relationship?

Remember, you're always welcome to visit the LCMS+ demonstration site or check out the instructions in our wiki.

We depend on your feedback to continually improve our learning and curriculum management systems. Please let us know what you think of these new functions or any other feature of LCMS+ by sending us an email or calling us at 919-923-0806.
