Armchair Paddlers Series Tuesday, Nov 8th at 7PM
Greetings!
Diane Michaud Lowry New Year's Day Paddle 2010

Just a reminder that the Armchair Paddlers speaker series resumes next Tuesday, November 8th.

Central Iowa Paddlers has partnered with the City of Des Moines Park & Recreation to bring you this series on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from October 2011 through April 2012.  These speaker sessions will focus on paddling related information and are open to both members and non-members alike!

Next week's armchair paddler presentation is titled "Adventures in Kayaking from a Woman's Perspective" by Diane Michaud Lowry with guests: Teresa Newcomb, and Sharon Anderson.
And for you men out there: Don't be proud...you are guaranteed to learn a lot!

Diane Michaud Lowry is a year-round kayaker and photographer. She has kayaked throughout the USA as well as Canada, the British Isles, Japan, and New Zealand. She is involved in Kayak Adventure Racing, and as a Physician Assistant is interested in kayak education for health and fitness.

Teresa Newcomb started canoeing nearly 20 years ago, and has readily taken to kayaking.   She enjoys photography and extended wilderness camping and kayaking adventures. She has kayaked the Louisiana Bayou, the Gulf of Mexico, Everglades, Apostle Islands, Voyageurs National Park, and the Florida Circumnavigation Saltwater Paddling Trail.

Sharon Anderson started canoeing in the Boundary Waters at age 18 and has been paddling ever since. Growing up she didn't have family who were interested in paddling, so she was very happy when she discovered solo canoeing and kayaking. Sharon prefers kayaking because she is closer to the water and feels it is easier to control. Sharon also loves paddle sports because of all the wonderful people that she meets.
