MESSAGE FROM RICK

Richard P. Aulenbach, P.E.Each year at this time we hustle to complete all of our holiday preparations and enjoy visits with family

and friends.    While it is hectic, it is still a fun and joyful time of year.  We reminisce about the good times during the past year and think of the opportunities that a New Year will bring.

I am optimistic about 2011.  We are finally seeing new activity and find our clients initiating projects.

The good work we do for our clients will pave the way to success with these opportunities.  I know it has been a tough year for all of us and our country as we adjust to the competitiveness of the new world economies.  We are thankful for our valuable clients and our dedicated employees who work to please them.

Thank you for your support and friendship over the past year.  Happiest of holidays to you, your family, and friends.

Sincerely,

Richard P. Aulenbach, P.E.

RPA HELPS GROVE CITY COMMUNITY WITH NEW LIBRARY EXPANSION

Grove City LibraryRPA Engineering was pleased to play a lead role as the Design Project Manager for all aspects of the design involving the library expansion in Grove City, Pennsylvania.  The new addition will add 2,657 square feet to the library's current 6,625 square foot facility.  RPA provided the complete MEP engineering and worked with the borough and library board including overseeing and coordinating the architectural and civil engineering services.  We also coordinated all the documents for Code and Grant submittal and approval.   The total project is targeted to come in below budget.  Construction is scheduled to begin within 90 days and be completed by spring 2011.
SARAH WILSON RECEIVES
MARTINDALE MBA FELLOWSHIP

Sarah WilsonRPA Project Manager Sarah Wilson has been selected to participate in the Martindale MBA Fellowship.

The Martindale MBA Fellowship is a collaborative effort between the Martindale Center for the Study of Private Enterprise and the Lehigh MBA program.  She will spend the next year studying global business practices and corporate social responsibility, which will include a field study where she will travel to the UK (University of Nottingham and London).  The trip will be a mix of classroom seminars taught by professors from the Nottingham University and meetings with business leaders in Nottingham and London.

As a Lehigh University MBA graduate, Sarah was eligible to apply and had to submit an essay explaining what she hoped to gain by studying business abroad and participate in a round of interviews.  Twelve people were selected to participate in this prestigious program.

RPA Congratulates Sarah on this accomplishment!

DID YOU KNOW...

A few fun facts:

·        The typical lead pencil can draw a line that is thirty five miles long.

·        An average home creates more pollution than  the average car.

·        There are 2,500,000 rivets embedded in the Eiffel Tower and the total weight of the metal is 7000 tons. If you include everything else, the weight of the tower is well over 10,000 tons. When the structure was being designed, the engineers decided that it needed to be painted so they hired 25 painters for the task. Every seven years, the entire structure is repainted so that the metal doesn't rust and it takes about 50 tons of paint to do so.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

From all of us at RPA Engineering,  we thank you for your friendship and business over the past year and wish you and your family a holiday season filled with joy and a prosperous and healthy 2011!
