MESSAGE FROM RICK

It's hard to believe that the hot summer months are behind us and we are heading into fall. Throughout 2010, energy efficiency continues to be an important topic for clients. While there has been considerable focus on solar and cogeneration, there are other approaches available to businesses to save on energy costs. One option is using a building management system. We take so many things for granted - the water will be hot when we use the sink, the building will be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. When the building is a large corporate office complex or university campus, keeping everyone comfortable can be challenging. At the same time, it is important for building owners and facility managers to provide all these comforts in an energy efficient fashion. RPA is excited to be working with our clients to review their existing building management systems and create a master plan for maintaining and upgrading the systems, as necessary, to keep everyone comfortable and save on energy. Not only is this process a great planning tool, it is also a key step toward better managing fuel and energy consumption and ultimately saving on costs. We hope you are enjoying a positive year, and welcome your ongoing feedback.
Richard P. Aulenbach, P.E. President
