Home of the Month - Caring Heart Terrace

The Caring Heart Terrace motto is "Heart to care, hand to hold and mind to think." We have a great deal of knowledgeCaring Heart Terrace and experience in dealing with many difficult situations, along with plenty of hugs, kisses and all around love. Plus great home cooked meals! It's a sign that we are doing something right when a resident asks after receiving their breakfast, "Where is my morning kiss?" We believe that love is the best medication in the world. Want to learn more? Take a look at their beautiful website.

A Recap of AALHA's February Forum

There's nothing like hearing from an expert, and that's just who we had at the February forum. Christine Ellis, of Cedar Sanctuary, LLC, owns twelve assisted living homes that run like clockwork. Why? Because she has set policies and procedures in place for every employee and every home.
Christine shared with us the dos and don'ts of employee relations. She advises, "If you don't have an employee handbook, that should be the first priority on your to-do list." The information Christine offered was not only informative, but valuable in every business situation, and we hope to have her back for more. Contact Christine for tips about this very important topic.

Our forum sponsor was Comfort Plus. Jolene and Kevin gave a great overview of their product line featuring Tranquility incontinence products. Thank you, Comfort Plus, for providing us with tasty refreshments.

We hope to see you at our March forum - Wednesday, March 30, 1:30 to 3:30 pm at Sunwest Pharmacy.

AALHA's Membership Renewal Plan

If you have yet to renew, or apply for, 2011 AALHA membership, now is the time to do so. Your Board of Directors is very aware of the financial constraints put on our care homes in the current economic climate. As a result, they have authorized a membership payment plan that will assist you in maintaining your membership or becoming a new member.

How does it work? It's simple - you pay $50/month for 5 consecutive months and you're done for the year. We accept checks or credit cards, but are unable to process credit card payments online. For more information, and to receive a copy of the Payment Plan Membership Application, please contact Linda at admin@aalha.com.

Our New Website

At our conference, we introduced AALHA.org, AALHA's new, and much improved, website. We have some finishing touches to put on this site and as soon is it goes live, we will send an announcement to all. This site has been designed with search engines in mind. That means more visibility for each of our members. If you never got around to inserting information about your business on the old AALHA.com site, now is the time to start thinking about what you want on the new site. This is your opportunity to announce to the world who you are, what you do, and what makes your business unique. More information about using this fantastic new site will be announced shortly.

AALHA's 2011 Annual Conference

Watch for a special edition of AALHA news for the low down on our March 2 conference. Every participant, from exhibitor to speaker to attendee, had nothing but positive remarks about the day.
