Protect your vote!  Call Gov. Daniels now!

Background:

President Obama's "deferred action" for DREAMERs started full force on August 15.  His actions do not confer legal permanent resident status or citizenship on these illegal aliens, it just defers their deportation and gives them a permit to work for 2 years.  Obama cannot change immigration law but he is trying to go around it by making his DHS issue new policies which violate both the letter and the intent of the law.  If there is a legal basis for what he is doing, Obama's agencies have refused to reveal it.  Read about Judicial Watch's lawsuit here and sign their petition.  Obama cannot force us to break other laws in order to accommodate the illegals who receive this temporary amnesty.  Those laws include the REAL ID Act's secure document requirements for Indiana driver's licenses and the Indiana law prohibiting illegal aliens from receiving in-state tuition rates.

Don't give the illegals a license to steal!  Not only will it allow them to drive, but it would allow them to vote and gain access to other public benefits to which they are not entitled.

Remember when Reagan told us that about 1 million illegals would receive amnesty in 1986?  It turned out to be 3 million.  Obama told us his deferred action would result in work permits for about 800,000 but those estimates are already up to 1.7 million!  In Chicago alone, 50,000 illegals showed up on the first day.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has taken bold, decisive action to protect citizens from the effects of Obama's mini-amnesty for DREAMers.  She has issued an executive order to state agencies to deny driver's licenses and other public benefits to the illegals who obtain work permits from Obama.
Governor Dave Heineman of Nebraska has taken similar steps to protect his state.  We would like Governor Daniels to and our Indiana State Legislators to do the same!

TAKE ACTION!

Please call and email Governor Daniels as well as your Indiana State Senator and  State Representative.  Ask them to take steps to protect our votes and secure our public benefits just like the governors of Arizona and Nebraska have.

Dear Governor Daniels and Indiana State Lawmakers:

On August 15, 2012, the Obama Administration began issuing "deferred action" work permits to illegal aliens.  The Obama Administration's DOJ and DHS have refused to explaine the legal basis for such actions which clearly violate both the letter and the spirit of current federal immigration laws.

Both Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman have taken action to ensure that these "deferred action" illegals cannot receive driver's licenses, in-state college tuition rates or other public benefits to which they are not entitled by law.  I am writing to request that you, also, take immediate action to protect Hoosier taxpayers.

The top 4 reasons why you must take prompt action are:

1.  An Indiana Driver's License will provide access to many things including the ability to reward the Obama Administration with their votes in the November elections.

2.  Indiana already spends over $130 million per year on illegal aliens according to the Indiana Office of Management and Budget.  We need to ensure that "deferred action" illegals do not make that total go higher.

3.  The difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition rates at Indiana University is $20,000 per student per year.  The Indianapolis Star has reported that there were an estimated 300 illegal aliens attending our universities which would translate to a $6 million loss in state revenue if illegals access this benefit.

4.  Indiana's unemployment rate just rose again.  The last thing Hoosiers need is more competition from illegals for already scarce jobs.

Thank you very much for your prompt attention to this matter.  I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,

Save the date!  See you in September!
