IFIRE thanks you for taking such rapid and forceful action to stop HB 1326, Indiana's DREAM Act!  With your help, we pulled this off with less than 24 hours notice!  This was truly a tremendous group effort, as I tried to indicate in the graphic above.  We had an assist from some national groups but our local activists had already taken aggressive action before their reinforcements arrived.  I'm sorry I cannot name all the groups and individuals who contributed to this success, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

It's unusual for the news media to give us credit for stopping this bill, but they did so in this AP article which was picked up by major newspapers in Chicago and Indy. 

The in-state tuition language was not in the orignial bill that passed the House.  It was slipped in by the Senate Education Committee on Feb. 23rd.  Somehow, this information was not included on the state website which is supposed to record all the actions taken on each bill.  This makes me wonder if this was an intentional subterfuge to keep us from discovering it until it was too late.  You may search the records yourself at this link.
