Possible Hearing on SB 590

Heads up!

We wanted to alert everyone to the possiblity that SB590 will get a hearing before the House Public Policy Committee on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. (Eastern Time) in Room 156-B (as in Basement but it could be changed to the House Chambers to accommodate the large number of people expected to testify.)  Once we can verify this, we will let you know so you can plan to be there to speak out in support of the bill.

Speak up!

We need to hear from as many citizens as possible.  This is your chance to be heard!  This is your chance to speak directly to those who will decide whether the entire House will get to vote on this bill.

There is a good chance the bill will be amended.  You do not need to be an expert to state the reasons why you want SB590 passed this year.  Your comments should only be 1-2 minutes long.  Tell your personal story of how illegal immigration has impacted you.  Concentrate on the economic impact...higher taxes, loss of jobs, lawlessness.

RALLY at the State House on Tax Day!

We will be joining the Tea Party for a Tax Day Rally for "Less government--Less spending" at the State House on Friday, April 15th!

IFIRE will be there with a large banner illustrating the cost of illegal immigration to Indiana...$608 million dollars per year!  Your signs should focus on passing SB590 to save taxpayers money and jobs.

The Tea Party rally officially starts at 5pm (Eastern Time) but IFIRE members should arrive early (by 4pm) so we can have a "call-in" to our state legislators before the switchboard closes.  There will be many great speakers including Senator Lugar's replacement...Richard Mourdock!

Please help support this rally.  For more details, click:
