SB590 passed the Senate by 31-18

The State Senate passed the immigration enforcement bill by a roll call vote of 31 to 18.  Those who voted "Nay" need to hear from their constituents, especially Republicans like Charbonneau, Leising, and Wyss.  They are more concerned about possible negative "perceptions" affecting businesses which employ immigrants (presumably legal immigrants!) than they are with the REALITY that Hoosiers workers lose jobs and tax money to illegal immigration.

SB590 held hostage in the House
indiana general assembly

Pat Bauer strikes again!  He and the Democrat Flee Party are still in Illinois instead of in the Indiana General Assembly doing their jobs.

Meanwhile, legislation like SB590 languishes.  It has not been assigned to a committee.

Please take advantage of this lull to remind Speaker Brian Bosma-R and other Republican leaders in the House, that we elected them and gave them the majority so they could ensure a fair vote on bills like SB590.  Send them some recent articles showing how much this bill will benefit our state and unemployed workers.  Call to encourage them to support passage of SB590 when the Democrats return.
