Arizona's SB 1070 takes effect on Thursday, July 29th. That same day, there will be a march in South Bend, IN to protest the law. The marchers will end up at Congressman Joe Donnelly's office. An IFIRE representative will be there before them. Read about the march here. March organizers include LULAC and the AFL-CIO.
We need you to take action!
For maximum impact, please call and fax the Congressman's office during the afternoon on Thursday, July 29th. IFIRE will be there at 2pm. The pro-illegal marchers will arrive after 4:30pm.
Your calls should be brief and respectful. See talking points here. Besides commenting on the marchers, you can also thank Rep. Donnelly(D) for his recent opinion piece in which he criticizes Obama's lawsuit against Arizona. He also calls for a vote on the SAVE Act which would make E-Verify mandatory in all 50 states.
IFIRE's Director, Greg Serbon, has been a union member all his life. Most rank and file union workers oppose illegal immigration despite the actions of their leadership. Please also call these union officials to complain about their support of illegal immigration.
