"...calling for comprehensive immigration reform before securing the border is like asking for comprehensive energy policy reform before stopping the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico."

Arizona has come to symbolize the heroic American struggle against impossible odds.

The president of the United States, instead of protecting the citizens of Arizonan and partnering with them to enforce immigration laws, has unleashed U.S. Attorney General Holder to attack and obstruct them.  AG Holder hasn't read the bill but says he may sue Arizona.  DHS Chief Napolitano hasn't read the bill but says she wouldn't have signed it.  ICE Chief Morton says he may not do his job to pick up illegal aliens apprehended in Arizona.  Arizona's State Attorney General Goddard, an outspoken critic of SB1070, was supposed to defend AZ against the federal lawsuit.  One questions why he was meeting privately with Holder.  Since there were doubts about his ability to effectively defend AZ, Gov. Brewer replaced him with a private lawfirm.  Congressman Grijalva (D-AZ) called for a boycott against his own state!  From coast to coast and border to border "misguided" cities including Bloomington, IN have jumped on the bandwagon to boycott Arizona.  (Watch for our Action Alert on this!)

After first saying he was too busy, President Obama finally agreed to meet with Gov. Brewer.
Prior to the meeting, Gov. Brewer said she would ask the President to help Arizona.  When the reporter asked what she would do if he says he will proceed with the lawsuit, she replied she will "meet him in court."  After the meeting, Brewer just smiles when asked if she thinks Obama has read the bill.  For details of their discussion, watch Greta interview Brewer.

The Arizona immigration enforcement legislation SB1070 will be enforced July 29th just a month and a half away from now. There have been protests against the bill, and cities like Bloomington Indiana have signed letters stating their intent to boycott Arizona for enforcing immigration laws.

Detractors call Arizona's SB 1070 "racist" and compare it to gestapo tactics by the Nazis to round up Jews in World War II.

Section 287g of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) was signed by Bill Clinton in 1996 giving the states the right to enter into a formal Memorandum of Understanding with the federal government.  This effectively deputizes members of state or local law enforcement agencies to perform the functions of an immigration officer.

It's the 287g part of the 1996 INA legislation that has stopped the Arizona law from being overturned in the courts, and this is giving the open border pro- illegal alien crowd fits.

The pro-illegal alien crowd wants amnesty ( Comprehensive Reform ) and the restriction of state rights to assist in enforcing immigration laws. We cannot have another amnesty like the one granted to 2.7 million illegals in 1986. The current estimates of illegal aliens in our country range from 10 to 20 million illegals.
We just don't know.

Lt. Governor Becky Skillman was appointed by Mitch Daniels to chair a task force to coordinate the use of federal stimulus dollars from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.   We at Indiana Federation for Immigration Reform and Enforcement would like to see the E-Verify program enforced at the state level to help keep illegal aliens out of our workforce.  By using E-Verify, we can ensure that new jobs created with Stimulus Funds go to legal workers, not illegal aliens.

The E-verify program is an accurate computer based federal program employers can use to verify the work eligibility of all new employees. The cost of the program is free to the employers.

It's time for us to enforce the E-Verify program in Indiana, and we should ask Mrs. Skillman to put this program into effect. Call 317-232-4545 and ask her to start using the E-verify program now to put Hoosiers back to work.  Please also sign and send her this
petition.

Keep Illegal aliens out of our workforce and E-Verify!!
