Join in the excitement of bidding on breedings to some of the world's most sought-after Straight Egyptian stallions, and then stay for the Kentucky Hoedown at 8:00 p.m., including a Kentucky barbecue dinner and celebration party. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased at The Pyramid Society booth. This year's EBC class payout will exceed $135,000! Don't miss this opportunity to participate as a future EBC winner! CONGRATULATIONS TO NEW BOARD MEMBERS
LISA CIFRESE AND GAIL MAILLOUX
The Pyramid Society is proud to announce the election of two new board members.
Lisa Cifrese has been elected to complete the remainder of Susan Watson's unexpired term, ending September 2014.
Lisa grew up on the back of a horse, riding since age four, and owning horses since age ten. She and her husband Dr. Richard Geha own and operate Thornewood Farm, a small private farm in central New Jersey, home to nine Straight Egyptian mares.
Lisa has been an active member of The Pyramid Society for 27 years, has served as a Regional Representative for her area and can readily cite the one and only Event she has missed! She sees The Pyramid Society as "a beacon to Egyptian breeders worldwide" and looks forward to working in this new role to further assist The Pyramid Society in their ongoing mission of growing the membership, enhancing communication with the membership at large, and making every member feel welcomed.
In closing, Lisa states "The Egyptian Arabian horse, and we as breeders, would not be where we are in the world today if it were not for the generosity, creativity, forethought and dedication of the founders and directors of The Pyramid Society. I am grateful and most honored to be considered for such a position."
Gail Mailloux has been elected as a new board member, and her initial term will also end September 2014.
Gail has been a horse owner since 1966, and she her connection to the Egyptian Arabian horse goes back to 1974. She has a medical and teaching background, as well as an intense interest in new medical techniques in breeding. She and her husband, Dr. Joseph Mailloux, own Two Silos Farm LLC in Rogersville, Missouri. They have been active members of The Pyramid Society for 11 years, participating extensively in the numerous programs provided by The Society.
Gail's goals in her new role are to help achieve a stronger Pyramid Society within the U.S. and to clearly maintain the lead internationally in the guardianship of the Straight Egyptian. As Gail states, "It is important to do this with respect, helpful attitudes, goodwill and generosity. We should be THE organization that is looked to worldwide."
Gail shares her gratitude to The Society by stating, "Over the years I have watched The Pyramid Society do a SUPER job for the horses and their owners. It has done a great job with the annual Egyptian Event show and gathering, keeping one eye on the conventional show ring, but always managing to do better by the horses. I also think The Pyramid Society is sensitive to and values much more than just the show ring. Education and social opportunities abound in this group. I am very glad to be a member."
The Pyramid Society is fortunate to have such dedicated leaders as Lisa and Gail, and we look forward to their continued service in their new roles.
