COMMUNITY NUTRITION EDUCATION ENDOWMENT ESTABLISHED BY THE FUZELL-CASEY FAMILY

Fuzell-Casey Family
Thr Fuzell Casey Family

A$25,000 donation by the Fuzell-Casey Family created an endowment fund to  increase access for community education programs in northern Nevada.

Tim Casey and Jacquelyn Fuzell-Casey are long-time supporters of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Their family has a very specific and deeply personal interest in organizations and programs that benefit children and youth.

The Food Bank currently holds Food Smarts classes for children and youth in low-income neighborhoods, to help educate them and their families about food, health, and nutrition. The Food Bank also holds Smart Shopper classes to give adults the tools they need to learn to shop healthy on a budget. Jacquelyn and Tim believe that education is knowledge, that knowledge becomes power and thus, this collective power becomes the catalyst for positive change. The nutrition education endowment opportunity felt like the perfect fit for their Family.

"Tim and I feel blessed to be able to start this nutrition endowment partnership with the Community Foundation of Western Nevada and the Food Bank of Northern Nevada . We hope that we can serve as role models for others in our community who are able to help our effort move forward and grow, by joining us in leadership, giving and hope. What better way to invest in the future of our young people and the stability of our region...education is always the key to greater success."

~ Jacquelyn Fuzell-Casey

Tim and Jacquelyn own and operate a professional business services company in Reno, Nevada - SilverSky Group, LLC. They share their lives with two dogs, Poppi and Sammy, and have a son, Skyler, who attends college in Portland, Oregon.

Caughlin Fire Fund Established to Restore Public Land

A fund dedicated for stabilizing and restoring public lands affected by the November 17-18, 2011 was established yesterday by the Community Foundation of Western Nevada.

The Community Foundation volunteer Board members decided Tuesday that it is time for the Foundation to begin collecting donations from those who wish to help because now that people's homes and property are being addressed by government and insurance support, it is time to begin focusing on the damage done to public lands.

Tax deductible contributions to the Caughlin Fire fund can be made by credit card over the Community Foundation of Western Nevada website: www.nevadafund.org or checks may be sent to:
Community Foundation Western Nevada

1885 S. Arlington Ave. Suite 103, Reno, NV 89509.

The Community Foundation is northern Nevada's regional public charitable community foundation CFWN has a history of helping in a timely manner when needed. Two days after the Fernley Flood on January 8, 2008 a fund began collecting what amounted to over a quarter million dollars for the City of Fernley
