If you're active in the community, have kids in school, serve on a board, volunteer your time, are involved in politics, etc., then you are a fundraiser. Helping secure resources to support a needed activity brings great benefit to our community and our society.  At the Community Foundation we call it "connecting people who care with causes that matter." I'm pleased to share information about an upcoming local training event that will make your efforts effective and easier.

A Thank-You that Touches the Heart

Forwarded to us by Oscar Torres, Washoe County Social Worker from a young teen who received a WalMart gift card from the Family Court Judicial Benevolent Fund for Children.

The Family Court Judicial Benevolent Fund for Children brings smiles in tough times.

To whom it may concern,

I want to thank you for the gift card. I really appreciate it. It's really nice that you have helped me. With the gift card you gave me I have bought myself clothes and it makes me happy that you helped me because now my parents don't need to buy me clothes. Instead they can buy for my little brother. My parents are proud of me because I do really good in school and they think its really nice you have helped me out.

Sincerely,

Ashley*

The Family Court Judicial Benevolent Fund for Children makes small personal grants to children in the judicial system on recommendation from a Family Court judge. This fund is supported by generous community contributions and managed by the Community Foundation as our gift to  children in northern Nevada. You can help bring a smile! Donate here.
