Meet in Schneeberger Hall right after the last service for ice cream.  Bring your calendars for 2012 so we can pick dates to acolyte.  Training will be for all 3rd thru 6th graders who wish to learn and a refresher for others..
 
LUMC MEN'S WORK DAY
Saturday, January 21st at 9:am.  Meet in Schneeberger Hall.  Start with coffee and domuts then plan for the 2012 list of projects and needs.

Preschool Registration

WALKING CHALLENGE 2012

January 15 thru April 15, 2012 Kansas Area United Methodists are going to get moving!  This year, the Health and Wellness Committee Walking Challenge is focusing on getting everyone moving together.  For those who already walk, run, bike, swim or dance....the challenge is to take it up a notch.  This year, as the Body of Christ within the districts of the KS Area, we are seeking to meet the challenge of moving and walking to Jerusalem with a collective mileage of 6759 miles in each district.

POVERTY SIMULATION
The Leadership and Faith Transforming Communities Team will host a Poverty Simulation.  The event will help to understand the very real struggles of living in poverty and renew our desire to make positive difference in the lives of others.  This has been discribed as a powerful event.

3-D Theater production of "The Feeding and the Boat Ride".
Drama, dessert, and discussion for the interpretation of Andrew and Peter's experience with the feeding of the five thousand and Jesus walking on water.   
Communion 
HOLY COMMUNION
Persons who wish to serve Holy Communion to someone unable to be present in worship on the first Sunday of each month are encouraged to speak to Pastor Jack.  Those who serve may either serve someone of their choice or ask Pastor Jack for a name.  The elements will be consecrated during morning worship by the pastors and made available to volunteers following either service along with a liturgy that may be used with those you serve.  Several persons are enjoying this ministry, but new servers are also welcome.


INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
If Shawnee Mission School District cancels events, all daytime and evening events at LUMC will be cancelled.
