Memorial Day Weekend is Approaching!
We'll be celebrating Trinity Sunday on May 30.
The Scriptures will be Romans 5:1-5 and John 16:12-15
The Message is: "Go as Children of Truth"
The church office will be closed on May 31.
Please have a safe weekend as you travel, take time to honor and
remember special loved ones, spend time with friends and family, grill burgers, or whatever you do to celebrate!

Register ASAP for Vacation Bible School!
VBS is June 14-18. Everyone is invited to the program at noon on June 18. The kids will present special music during church on June 20 (when we'll also be saying Happy Father's Day to all the special guys in our lives!).
Sisterhood of the Traveling Cross
A new weekly Youth Bible Group for youth, called "Sisterhood of the Traveling Cross" begins on June 3. The group will meet weekly from 7-9pm in the Loft. Participants will take turns wearing a small hollow silver cross that has a very small mustard seed in its center as they celebrate their sisterhood as Christians. Kansas East Annual Conference is Coming!
The Kansas East Annual Conference is June 9 - 12 at Church of the Resurrection in Leawood. Everyone is invited to come and attend any of the worship services or to observe any of the business sessions. A list of events was published in the May Messenger. Those going from our church include Pastor Peggy, Pastor Lane, Pastor Jennifer, Lay Member, Linda Lipp, and Skylar Gotte and Jesi Lipp (both going as young adult delegates). If you are interested in attending and/or have questions, contact any of the above or call the Church Office at 913-888-5600.
Create With Spirit
Join this creative group the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 7pm. Bring your knitting, crochet, or any other creative project and enjoy good conversation and a time to relax! Linda Stoker facilitates, and has been reading chapters from Mitch Albom's, "Have a Little Faith". Some members of the group have been making prayer shawls and baby hats and booties to give to those in need. Patterns are available. Come and join the group whenever it works into your schedule!
Hotel Freebies
While on vacation this summer, please collect the soap, shampoo, lotion, etc. that the hotels place in the rooms. These are a good size to donate for people who are homeless. Bring them to church and place them in the gray bins in the Missions Nook outside the Church Office.
Be Green!
Bring your recyclables to church...paper, aluminum, plastics, batteries, old cell phones, iPods and digital cameras, eye glasses (these go to the Lyons Club), used toner and ink cartridges, and aluminum tabs from soda cans. Be green while at church too, by recycling bulletins, glass (containers for glass are in Schneeberger Hall), and other items, as well as by turning off lights when they aren't needed. When you're "green", everyone (and the earth) benefits!
