APRIL MISSIONS FOCUS
The Missions Committee is asking us to bring fresh vegetables and fruits for the Johnson County Food Pantry this month. Canned items are nice, but not always as nutritious. Can you bring a few items to church with you the next time you come? Place items in the box in the refrigerator in the Church Kitchen.
Note that canned items, paper products and hygiene items are always needed...and always appreciated!

Sunday, April 18
 Sunday is Endowment Sunday. We will be looking at the strategic goal (in the Long-Range Plan adopted in December 2004) that was to increase planned giving. The goal says, "at the end of five years, 10% of members will state that they have designated LUMC as a beneficiary of some aspect of his or her estate plan". Have we met this goal? Come and find out!!

Annual Merle Sparlin Fishing Derby
 Celebrate the Annual Merle Sparlin Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 1, from 9am to noon at the Rose Pond at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park (87th and Lackman)!! Bring your kids, grandkids, and neighbor kids...for a time of fun, food and prizes....
PLUS: We are celebrating Merle's 100th birthday that day.
A special cake will be served in his honor at 11:30.

A variety of low-cost screenings will be available, as well as free screenings (including blood pressure, pulse oximetry, body mass index, vision, glaucoma, finger stick glucose, hearing and more)...plus stations to talk with health professionals about a variety of things.
