Spring (I think)We've got spring weather Along with winter snow. I'll just stay home Since I can't go. Spring may be coming I know not just when. I'll just have to guess And maybe guess again.
Tomorrow is Sunday I can't get to church. What can I do this Sabbath Day? That's easy - I'll stay here and pray!
Amen. Ernestine Irvine (written 3-20-10)

Speaking
of "spring" weather (and spring break)...many of you have been
missed the last two Sundays. Hopefully Palm Sunday will bring sunshine
that will last through Holy Week and Easter Sunday!!
This
Sunday (March 28) is Palm Sunday! The children and youth are invited
to join the procession of palms at the beginning of the 10:30
worship service. The sermon is, "Journey to Jerusalem"; the
Scripture is Luke 19:28-40.
Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday.
Later in the week, everyone is invited to "Walk Through Holy Week"
on one of the tours led by our current Confirmation Class. The tours
begin Wednesday, March 31, at 6:30 and 7pm (in the Lobby of the
Education Building).
Worship on Maundy Thursday (April 1) in the
Sanctuary at 7pm. There will be Holy Communion, special music by the
Chancel Choir and Glenda Sherbon, and everyone will have the
opportunity to hammer their nail into the cross as a sign that Jesus
died for us.
Come for a personal time of prayer and reflection
from 9am - 3pm in the Sanctuary on Good Friday.
Worship at 6:30am on
Easter Sunday (April 4) at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park (87th and Lackman)
as the youth lead us in the annual Sonrise Service. Worship in the
Sanctuary is at 8, 9 and 10:30am. Kids - be sure to come to the Easter
Party and Egg Hunt at 10:30 in Schneeberger Hall!!
See you all in church!

Easter Parking: There will be many people here on Easter Sunday! With services at 8, 9 and 10:30, parking will be at a premium, so we are looking for volunteers to shuttle rides from the Old Town parking area to the church (and back) between the 3 worship services. Sign up sheets are outside the Sanctuary. Drivers are needed from 8:45 - 9:15, 9:45 - 10:30, and 11:30 - noon. Contact Pastor Lane or the church office (913-888-5600) with questions (or to sign up if you can't make it to church).
Ushers and Greeters Our ushers and greeters can make or break the worship experience for people...it is a vital ministry that helps make us a welcoming congregation to visitors, as well as to people who have been coming here for years. We are recruiting more ushers and greeters for the 9am and 10:30am worship services, as well as greeters to welcome children and parents from 8:455 to 9:10am in the Education building. Sign up outside the Sanctuary for an upcoming 30 minute training session. Current ushers and greeters are asked to attend a session to update their skills. Contact Pastor Lane or the church office (913-888-5600) with questions.
