Spring is in the air! The crocuses are starting to bloom, the kids are on spring break, the days are getting longer, and our city is looking greener and greener (St. Patrick's Day might have something to do with this).

Before we know it, Palm Sunday and Easter will be here. Mark your calendars now for Holy Week activities at church:
March 28 - Palm Sunday
March 31 - "Walk Through Holy Week" tours by the Confirmation Class; tours begin at 6:30 and 7pm (meet in the Lobby of the Education Building)
April 1 - Maundy Thursday worship at 7pm
April 2 - Good Friday; the Sanctuary will be open for individual prayer, from 9am - 3pm
April 4 - Easter Sunday. Sonrise Worship at 6:30am (at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park; by the Gazebo...87th and Lackman). Worship in the Sanctuary at 8, 9 and 10:30. Children's Easter Party begins at 10:30 (gather in Schneeberger).

There are small cards located outside the Sanctuary with the Holy Week and Easter schedule printed on them. Please take one and share it with a friend!
Ushers and Greeters!

Our ushers and greeters can make or break the worship experience for people...it is a vital ministry that helps make us a welcoming congregation to visitors, as well as people who've been coming here for years! We are recruiting more ushers and greeters for the 9am and 10:30am worship services (as well as greeters to welcome children and parents from 8:45 to 9:10am in the Education building)...perhaps you feel called to this special ministry? Sign up sheets for 30 minute training/refresher sessions will be up outside the Sanctuary soon. Current ushers and greeters are being asked to sign up to attend a session as well.Contact Pastor Lane with questions - 913-888-5600 or lane.bailey@lenexaumc.org. 
Easter Beauty
The Worship Arts Team welcomes donations for lilies and other visual arts/decorations for the church this Easter season. We will not be taking specific lily orders this year, but are being better stewards of our money to join efforts so there aren't so many lilies left over without homes after Easter. Individuals can still donate altar flowers for the season - the sign up calendar is on the bulletin board outside the Library. Donations for Easter decorations are due to the office by March 26. 
Wednesday Night OASIS

All Wednesday Evening activities are taking a "spring break" on March 17 - except the Spirit Singers, who will still rehearse. Enjoy the evening with your family and friends.


Easter Parking
With services at 8, 9 and 10:30am in the Sanctuary, there will be a large attendance on Easter Sunday. We need volunteers to provide shuttle rides from the Old Town parking area to the church (and back) between the 3 services.

We need drivers (3-4 vehicles per
time slot) from:

8:45 - 9:15
9:45-10:30
11:30-noon

The UMW Trash to Treasure set up begins Sunday...bring your donations to Schneeberger Hall on Monday and Tuesday, March 22 and 23, from 9am - 5pm. Shop the Congregational Sneak Peek from 6:30-7:30pm on Tuesday...and then bring all your friends to shop Wednesday (9am - 8pm), Thursday and Friday (9am - 5pm) and Saturday (9am - 3pm). Sale proceeds go to UMW Mission efforts.
