Rec 'n Rah - Volunteer Dick Body  Des Moines Activity Center is lucky to work with many wonderful volunteers on a daily basis. This Rec n Rah goes to a very special volunteer, Mr. Dick Body. Dick, retired from the Postal Service, shares his considerable talents with us on a daily basis. Baking his famous "power cookies" for the passengers on the many day trips he drives for us, taking homebound seniors nutritious meals on wheels weekly, driving homebound seniors to medical appointments in his shiny red sports car, coordinating equipment and repair projects for senior center staff...and ALL with a beautiful smile and a wonderful, positive attitude. Our hats off and with GREAT appreciation to Des Moines Activity Center volunteer Dick Body. He is one of the many Des Moines residents who makes our community (and our senior activity center!) a welcoming, active place to live and age.  |
