Welcome to the first issue of The Reiki for Living News! My intention for this monthly newsletter is to support Reiki practitioners, and to provide useful information for anyone who may wish to know more about Reiki. I welcome your feedback.

An Inside Job
Modern medicine can ameliorate or eliminate symptoms; talk therapy can provide a forum for venting frustrations and give fresh perspectives on patterns of behavior---but true healing at the deepest levels of energetic CAUSE is an inside job.
The healing of cause is not accomplished through the auspices of a pill, surgery, or reason. It comes through the Soul's attunement to Grace, and Grace comes from the Divine.
I believe that Reiki is Grace expressed as Divine Love---Divine Love directed through the intention of the practitioner for the purpose of healing. Reiki creates a bridge between the Soul and Grace, and through Grace, all things are possible.
While Reiki works effectively as an adjunct to allopathic modalities, it goes beyond them in a profound way. In a consummately gentle manner, Reiki loosens stagnant energy and removes blocks to healing, cleansing and balancing the body energetically so that true healing can take place on the deepest Soul level.
This kind of healing manifests as the release of held anger; the falling away of fear; the
giving up of belief in victim-hood; the loss of desire for retribution;
and the forgiveness of self and others. Within it is the freedom to live fully, joyfully and authentically.

Give Yourself a 15-Minute Reiki Treatment
Although more powerful if you have been attuned to Reiki, this technique can be used by anyone. It's a great stress-reducer.
Situate yourself comfortably. You may wish to invoke Reiki symbols and say a prayer of intention. Use my position #4 or any other that you wish. Imagine billions of particles of light, refracted into the colors of the rainbow, entering the crown of your head, gently flowing throughout your body and aura, and exiting through your feet.
Imagine that this gentle stream of rainbow light is permeating every particle of your being. As it flows through your body, it is removing all energy that does not serve you. Imagine all stress, tension, pain, and discomfort being carried away, returned to the earth for healing. Ask for the release of emotional distress, false beliefs, and limiting ideas, imagining them flowing out your feet with the rainbow light. Then imagine that every cell of your body is being cleansed, healed, and renewed. That every cell is being reborn to its true essence, to its highest and best function in the service of your body.
When you feel complete with this process, imagine white light emanating from your spine, flowing throughout your body and aura, and radiating from you to all with whom you come in contact.

Become a Distant Reiki Angel
Distant Reiki Angels are a group of Level II or above practitioners who have agreed to receive email requests for distant Reiki from fellow practitioners. The request may be for the practitioner, a family member, or friend.
Based on time available and other life circumstances at the time of the request, each "Angel" evaluates the request and chooses whether or not to send Reiki. If the "Angel" chooses to proceed, he or she will send distant Reiki as frequently as possible over a two-week period, or longer, if necessary.
