The Journey Continues

I took my Master training with William Rand in July 2004. Learning that he was to teach in Seattle the following September, I offered to meet him at the airport. En route to his hotel he asked me what kept me busy besides my Reiki practice. I responded that I was also an editor and a writer.

"Oh?" I could hear the interest in his voice. "I'm looking for an editor for Reiki News Magazine." By the time we reached the hotel, we had agreed that he would email me an article for a sample edit, and within a couple of hours one appeared in my inbox. Soon after returning the edited version I received another message: "I like what you've done."

And so with the Winter 2004 issue began a rich and rewarding collaboration in the editing of articles submitted by contributors, William's articles, and, eventually, my own. In 2007 I suggested that we initiate a one-page column focusing on a single aspect of Reiki, and "Getting the Most from Reiki" was launched with the Summer 2007 issue.

Among the richest rewards of my association with the magazine have been the personal connections and email friendships that have developed over the years with other contributors and readers. Some of you are reading this because I edited an article you wrote, or because you were kind enough to let me know that something I wrote resonated with you. These are connections of the heart that have touched me deeply and fill me with gratitude beyond  words.

I have released my position as editor with the Fall 2010 issue. I am phasing out editing work to focus on my practice, teaching, and writing. As I embrace the continuous unfolding of my Reiki journey, I am filled with gratitude for the richness of my experience with the magazine, for each reader, and for each contributor. Reiki blessings to all!
