The Arrival of Your Goal

As cyclists and endurance athletes, we are accustomed to setting lofty and sometimes extremely aggressive goals for ourselves. It allows us to dream of what at one time we may have thought impossible to accomplish.
 
Being an avid cyclist for 20+ years, I can still remember my first group ride and getting dropped during the warm-up. I can also remember my first century and how much harder it was, than what I thought it would be. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the challenge and suffering that cycling presented.
 
On September 11, 2010, I will be riding my first 24-hour solo road ride, south of Castle Rock, CO to benefit the Autism Society of Colorado (ASC). My nephew Reid is Autistic and is my inspiration for this new challenge

Reid's Ride

September 11th/12th 2010, Castle Rock Colorado, 10am will be when OES Community Sponsored Athlete Matt Hollas clips into his pedals and settles onto the saddle and begin his 24hour journey in an attempt to cover 300-400 miles.

Come out and show your support by cheering him on as he comes through the home base location of the circuit route or plan to ride a few laps with him. Route details can be found here..[ Reid's Ride circuit ] Home base location is the Southwest corner of Plum Creek Pkwy and South Wilcox St.

Glycolysis is the further breakdown of glycogen into pyruvic acid which depending on whether oxygen is present or not determines the amount of energy available to the body.

2011 Optimize Endurance Services Mountain Bike Team
I'm currently in talks with sponsors for the 2011 season and would like to provide some preliminary info, so that you can plan to join the team this fall for the upcoming season.

A meeting to discuss team memberships will take place in early October, further communication will be sent out as to when and where the meeting will be.

A quick reminder that OES is here to help you maximize your time to train.

Fall is a great time to check in with a Lactate Threshold test to see how you have improved your fitness over the summer. It is also a great time to get a measure of RMR to be sure of proper food intake as the riding season nears it's final days. You don't want to over eat and ruin all the hard work that has been accomplished.
