Interview with Michelle Singletary of the Washington Post
This is a very exciting time for our company. We have recently retooled our social media capacities. This expansion is necessary to show our clients and supporters our commitment to deliver quality service. Our blog is currently under construction along with an updated website that will be more responsive to our clients.
Our intro 2011 newsletter we will look at the new
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). This agency was created from the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform Law passed by Congress last year. The CFPB will actually begin operation in July 2011. While the direction of the organization was clear: consumer financial protection. The infrastructure and enforcement capability currently is not as clear.
There will be at least eight divisions: Research, Community Affairs, Consumer Complaints, Office of Fair Lending Opportunity, Office of Financial Education, Office of Service Member Affairs, Office of Financial Protection of Older Americans and Ombudsman for Private Education. As a member of the Arkansas State Banking Board and a veteran of twenty years in the banking and investment business, I am very interested in this group's ability to deliver benefit to consumers.
I will be speaking and writing about this organization and its function going forward. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to get in contact with me.
