Butterworth, author of the book Spiritual
Economics has some strong opinions about giving
as a fundamental spiritual law. He discusses how the consciousness of giving
gets neglected by the "magic" of tithing.
Tithing is the perfect topic for the last of our 6-week series on Spiritual Economics.Believe it or not, we are NOT talking
about money! We are talking about "truly giving".
Once we grasp this, we will have a much clearer picture of "a world that works
for everyone- the "real" New World Order. Is it possible to see the "crisis"
that we are currently facing as a powerful "opportunity point"? In the midst of
everything can WE hold the vision for a different world? I

Practicing
The Presence is a Foundations of Unity class, co-taught by Rev. Will and Sandi Angotti, Tuesday
evenings, beginning June 8th through July 6th
from 7:00 pm to 9:00
p.m. in the Chapel. Class fee is $60.00.
Consider Unity's concept of God, and your present concept of
God. Learn how to conceptualize God in different ways, how to 'approach' God; learn
about the silence of mind. Learn to meditate, and
practice it during the class. Learn how to pray for yourself and for
others, out loud and in silence. Learn to
listen for, be aware of, and then follow the guidance you receive.
This
class is a pre-requisite for joining the Prayer Ministry, but can be enjoyed by everyone.

Celebrate Your Life in Nature Retreat
This retreat is hosted by Rev. Will,
the prayer ministry volunteers, and presenters from other traditions.
"I
love the outdoors, in the back country hills with its quiet breezes, the sounds
of horses, cows calling, and black crows cawing. The air smells like
plants and warm earth.
In the rainy season, wildflowers bloom in the damp
areas. Wild turkeys run in the grass; the lake is full of water.
This is the perfect setting for our one-day spiritual retreat.
We should
have great weather, and workshops that help develop one's spiritual life in
artistic directions like mandala drawing and alter creation, jewelry making and
story telling, and workshops in several spiritual practices such as meditation, Qi
gong, silent walks, the labyrinth, yoga, chakra clearing, Sufi chanting, and
others. It is going to be a deeply rewarding day."
Join
us on Saturday, May 22 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, at the Retreat Center
near Descanso.

In the upcoming weeks, Rev. Will will be featuring a spiritual
teacher, Adyashanti, an enlightened and inspiring teacher who will be with
us 'live' in the Sanctuary on December 4th and 5th.
"Becky and I have been to many of Adyashanti's retreats and weekend intensives,
and consider him one of the most clear and compassionate teachers of the
enlightenment now living, along with Eckhart Tolle, and Gangaji," Will writes.
