Vitro America™ CPSC Certification of Compliance Implemented February 11, 2010
In accordance with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) requires all architectural glazing materials to comply with the applicable CPSC regulations by issuing a general certificate of conformity based on a reasonable testing system.
Vitro America will meet all requirements for the implementation effective February 11, 2010. Vitro America, LLC. will issue an electronic certificate of compliance for each applicable tempered product meeting the requirements of CPSC 16 CFR 1201, which includes a unique identifier for each product.
All documentation of compliance is supported by the Safety Glazing Certification Council (SGCC), a third party certification agency, and may be easily accessed by visiting www.sgcc.org/compliance.
The certificate of compliance shall contain the following information:
- Identification of the product covered by the certificate
- Citation to Title 16 Part 1201 of the Code of Regulations: CPSC 16 CFR 1201
- Identification of the U.S. importer or domestic manufacturer (or private labeler) certifying compliance of the product
- Contact information for the individual responsible for maintaining records of the test results, including name, email address, address and phone
- Date and place where the product was manufactured
- Date and place where the product was tested for compliance with the regulation cited above
- Identification of the third party laboratory (or other conformity assessment body) on whose testing the certification depends.
In addition to issuing a certificate of compliance for each product, a unique label will be applied to all products required to meet the CPSC regulation.

Envision™ Handrails and Partitions |

Vitro America produces Envision™ glass handrail systems using a variety of finishes and hardware styles. Glass handrails or balustrades, smoke baffles and partitions may be created by combining different glass types, top caps (or no top rail at all) and extrusions, glass connectors and base materials. In addition, there are so many different glass types available: Starphire, Pavia acid-etched, DecoTherm digital imaging on glass, specialty laminated using Sentry Glass interlayers by Dupont or Vanceva colors by Saflex.
