Greetings!

jack 2011 1

Uh oh, where'd February go?

One minute it's Ground Hog Day and next thing you know the Super Bowl's in the rearview mirror and St. Patty's Day is right around the corner.

Hope y'all are still in integrity with all those New Year resolutions. Maybe it's just that we live in paradise (doesn't that make us smarter too?) but health-wise, it looks like we're off to a very fast start.

I always see the gym flooded with new members in January and you can tell the newbies in spin class because they're conveniently slow studies when it comes to using the resistance knob. Not a problem in dentistry: last month we were fortunate to meet more new faces at TCDC than ever before in January. Thanks!

And March 15 is coming up fast and that means we'll be raffling off a new 42" flat screen TV to a lucky patient who's referred friends or family or even distant acquaintances to TCDC during the last three months.

This month: a reminder about the Jazz for Peace concert benefitting the children and families of Rosemary Children's Services, the usual Trojan update, baby Watch with OM Dalila, another new face at TCDC, and some columns coming your way from the Mid Valley News.

Oops, almost forgot Aunt Clara and it's never a good idea to ignore small Sicilian women (they have long memories.)

Had to share this fun pic of me and my bud Petros Papadakis aka The P. (radio show). What a hoot!

Watch at your own RISK!

Ok, we are taking a risk and being a bit over the edge this month.  This is one way to get the message out about gum disease. "Warning: It is a bit racy. The following may well be the first "R-rated" commercial cautionary tale regarding gum disease. Watch at your own risk...or DON'T watch at your own risk."

RSC provides comprehensive support for children at risk.

The organization celebrated its 90-year anniversary in 2010 and looks forward to another year of advocacy for children who really haven't had much experience reaching for a helping hand.

USC Trojan UPDATES

sc logo

Late last month, I joined some of the Trojan faithful, courtesy of Inner Circle member Steven Day and buddy John Ramirez, to listen in on Assistant USC Athletic Director J.K. McKay.

J.K.'s Dad was legendary Trojan football Coach John McKay and it's true that J.K. once took his Dad's car for a wash, only to return home with the wrong car. Said J.K., "coulda happened to anyone."

Baby Watch...

baby boyWhoohoo! New TCDC baby!

Office Manager (OM) Dalila gave birth to Jacob Joseph (JJ) at 11:59PM, January 27.

Jacob weighed in at a robust 9lbs, 3ozs. Mom and son are doing great.

Mid Valley NEWS!

Thought you might be interested in learning what it's like when the Doc becomes the patient. It's cool to read about stuff like this because you can't hear the whining.

I give you: "When the Glove's on the other Hand."

Didn't know one dentist could carry around so much hot air.

      Denise is a DYNAMO!

starSo for the next couple of months if you walk up and think you're seeing double, our new addition is Denise, Dental Assistant Extraordinaire Dani's sister.

Denise is a dynamo!

Denise actually trained Dani early on and has been part of a local pediatric dentistry team for the past 15 years. We're really fortunate having Denise help out during Dalila's maternity leave.

 She's back from the hospital...

  aunt clara

So Aunt C is back 100% from having spent a few days in the hospital after the first of the year; I think she just needed some R & R.

Can't believe Aunt Clara's energy level and one thing I know for sure, she hasn't developed any allergies to chocolate.

The latest ingredient to Aunt C's longevity and vitality: Tops' chef salad with Italian (what else?) dressing.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Excerpt from chapter...

"PLANNED PATIENTHOOD"

"...if you have any doubts about anything regarding your care, please just ask until you're happy or comfortable with your choice. If no one's listening, find someone who will."

Come on by for your copy of the book! It's actually quite amusing while it's educational!

"The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. JVB and crew make me look forward to my office visits, and that's even when I need to replace a crown.

Have you guys been selected as winners of the Best of Pasadena yet? If not, we need to work on that. Thanks, Kolleen for rounding me up some gossip rags to read while in the chair!"
