"The more powerful our pulse,
the more fully engaged we can be.
Energy is the fundamental currency of high performance."
- Jim Loehr, Performance Psychologist
Is energy or time more valuable? Energy.
Think about those days when your energy is low. It doesn't matter if you have all the time in the world to get things done, low energy makes it difficult, if not impossible, to be productive.
On the other hand, think about those days when you are full of energy. Isn't it surprising how much you can get done in a short period of time?
How can we maximize our energy to produce exceptional results? Following a period of activity the body must replenish the energy it has expended. A period of rest and recovery is paramount to maintaining a consistent level of performance. Failure to do so will result in insufficient reserves, diminished productivity, reduced mental clarity, and decreased skillful application of our talents and abilities.
Many of us think working harder and longer is better. This is a myth! If you are saying to yourself, "I'm too busy to rest. I have too much to do, I can't slow down." Are you also feeling anxious, frustrated, short tempered and stressed out?
Set aside time for rest and renewal and notice how much more productive and even tempered you are.
