Tim Reed
Local Businessman Tim Reed Elected to Chair the Greenville Chamber's 2014 Board of Directors

The Chamber's Board of Directors has elected local businessman Tim Reed as Chair-Elect. Reed will serve as Chair of the Chamber's Board of Directors in 2014, following 2013 Chair Luanne Runge. Current Chairman Mike Riordan, President and CEO of Greenville Hospital System, notes Reed's involvement in the entrepreneurial and small business community as an important factor in his selection. "As the Chamber expands its efforts to grow high-impact companies, Tim brings direct entrepreneurial experience and perspective to this position. As an entrepreneur himself, an investor and Chair of the Upstate Carolina Angel Investors Network, he will help the Chamber apply resources where the need is greatest. His business experience and past leadership of the United Way, Red Cross and other organizations makes him well-suited to lead the Upstate's largest business organization."

Reed has been active in the Chamber's ACCELERATE! and NEXT economic development initiatives and looks forward to continuing those efforts while blending the needs of our mature business community. According to Reed, "It is a real honor and privilege to be asked to Chair the Chamber in 2014. Electing me speaks huge volumes of the organization's support of businesses of all sizes and stages, regardless of their position in the growth cycle. My passion for Greenville could not be any stronger and the work the Greenville Chamber performs toward community prosperity makes our region one of the most unique in the country. With a goal of increasing the per capita income of our region, it will be my pleasure to serve this incredible community as we strive to build one of the premier business communities in the world!"

BEST Tip of the Week
Did you know that up to 90% of the cost of operating washing machines is associated with the energy needed to heat the water? Save up to 10% on your water heating costs by washing and rinsing items in cold water. Select a laundry detergent formulated to clean effectively in cold water and pre-soak heavily soiled items. In addition, wash only full loads to reduce your water consumption. To learn more about ways to reduce your utility costs, visit FurmanBEST.biz.
