WEEKLY UPDATE            Wednesday, July 27, 2011

Greetings!

Good News of the Week: Greenville Ranked FDi Intelligence's #1 Micro City of the Future! -GSA Business
We hope you have a fantastic and successful week!

Congratulations to our Small Business of the Month: RESCOM CONSTRUCTION!

Rescom Construction is our July 2011 Charter Business Small Business of the Month!

Rescom Construction

Ken Pelanda (Charter Business, Award Sponsor), Sam Konduros (Chamber Board Chairman), Julie Godshall-Brown (Godshall Staffing, Small Business Task Force Chair), Tim Justice (President, Rescom Construction), Joe McGlaughlin (Vice President, Rescom Construction), and Ben Haskew (Chamber President/CEO).

Rescom Construction is Greenville's leading specialty contractor for commercial renovations and tenant upfits. Rescom was founded by Tim Justice and Joe McLaughlin in 1989, whose relationship began as business associates at US Shelter Corporation and took shape as tax law changes began taking their toll on this once rock solid real estate company in the mid to late 80's. With Joe's degrees and experience in Construction Science and Architecture and Tim's degree and experience in accounting it seemed to be the perfect formula for a business endeavor. With a little cash and a freshly crafted business plan they ventured out on their own in May of 1989.

Although they started out building custom homes, they discovered an underserved niche in the commercial tenant upfit business and made it their primary focus in 1995. Today, Rescom completes more than 100 projects annually, with a staff of roughly 20 highly skilled, well-rained professionals. Their current and former customer list consists of names like Fluor, GE, TD Bank, Hubbell Lighting, Smith Barney, PriceWaterhouse and many other local and national businesses.

Rescom was recognized by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce in 2007 as the sixth Fastest Growing Company in the state. Dedicated to community, in addition to the Greenville Chamber, Rescom Construction supports the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, and the American Red Cross. Joe and Tim are pleased and honored to be the Greenville Chamber's Small Business of the Month.

Congratulations to our Ambassador of the Month: LOUISE KAY!

Louise Kay Ambassador

Louise Kay (Radio Marketing Master) is an Account Executive for WMUU FM Radio Station where she has worked for 30 years, both as an announcer and in sales.

Louise attributes her longevity at the station not so much because of her love for radio and 'showbiz,' but because WMUU is a Christian radio station and she can freely support all that it stands for. She lives in Easley with her husband, two cats, and a boykin spaniel. She has a daughter, son, and two grandchildren.
