"Thank God for running. It is the ultimate detox for me, whether my poison is bubbles, a foul mood, or a bad attitude. If I combat inertia, get out, and get moving, eventually every kind of toxin works its way out.."

             Kristin Armstrong, Author and Runner

With this quote in mindCome join us at one of our many Fun Runs.  It is a good way to pound that devil that is bothering you right out of your "sole."
Swarthmore Fun Run - Wednesday

26 runners and walkers were out last night at the Swarthmore Fun Run.  I'm surprised more didn't come out as Swarthmore is known for being about 10-15 degrees cooler than the surrounding towns during the summer months.  Well now that the secret is out, perhaps more will be out next week.  About 24 people came out to Swarthmore Pizza afterwards for good food and laughs.  Come on out and join in the fun.  All abilities are welcome.
Junior Development Track Meet - June 11th

We need volunteers for our annual Junior Development Track meet which is set for Saturday June 11 at Strath Haven High School starting at 9 am. The meet is sponsored and directed by our Delco Road Runners Club and the Swarthmore Recreation Association. The meet is usually over by 1 pm. There were 150 participants last year.

There is no entry fee, and participants from all counties are welcome. Club members are encouraged to have there children participate. Competition is held in two year age groups: 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18 for boys and girls.  There is also an open mile for adults at the start of the meet.
If you can help out, contact meet directors Mike Gormley or Byron Mundy.

Trail Runners

Attention Trail Runners!!!

It is time to get back in the trails for Thirsty Thursdays Trail Running. Starting Thursday, June 9th and continuing every Thursday we will meet in the Home Depot parking lot in Broomall at 6:30PM.

We will be running the trails behind O'Hara and Don Guanella.  There are various loops depending upon how long you want to run, 2 miles, 4 miles, 6-7 miles and anything in between. All levels welcome!  I would like to be leaving from the parking lot at 6:30 so get there a little early if you need to prep....  Bring freinds. family or anyone that may be interested in running trails.  Pass it on.
Some may be heading to a local watering hole after the run for a drink.  Come if you like but don't feel pressured if you don't want to or can not go for some other reason (baby sitter, cash flow, etc.....)
If you can't make it to run at 6:30 let me know, there maybe others that would like to go earlier.

Runner's World has a included a supplement on Trail running in the June issue.
Pick up a copy and read all about what you are missing.....
