Delco RRC Logo
Delco Road Runners Club Mission
A. To promote regular running as a life-long activity that will enhance the physical, mental and emotional well being of people of all ages.
B. To sponsor weekly fun-runs in Delaware County neighborhoods for fun and fellowship.
C. To promote communication and camaraderie among area runners.
D. To facilitate competitive racing and team competition for all interested members.

Hello Delco RRC

"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful."

With this quote in mind - Come out, run with your friends and be a better runner. Run Happy!!!  I mean today!!!
Tyler Trail Race - 3/27/10

Tyler Trail Run is Delco RRC's own 10K Trail run.  Join us March 27th for this "fairly" easy trail run.  Not very technical and one of the safest trail runs you will ever do.  You can register on-line by going to the Tyler Web site at www.tylertrailrun.com.  You can also click HERE to download the registration form.

This is a Delco RRC run race.  We currently have close over 300 registered, well ahead of last year.  We have closed on-line registration.  Get there early this Saturday if you want to be sure to get in on this great trail race.  This year we are giving away short-sleeve tech shirts in both men's and women's cuts.

Volunteers will be needed so please reach out to Denise Talbot at [email protected] to volunteer if you can.  If you can get to Tyler by 7:30, that would be great.

From Denise:  "Hello!  Thanks so much for volunteering for this Saturday's race.  Following are some simple but important points to help us be prepared this Saturday.

PARKING:  This is an issue, so it is recommended that we (except those needing to leave early) meet a quarter-mile down the road from Tyler Arboretum and park at St. George's Orthodox Church (30 E. Forge Road Media, PA 19063).  This gives just a few cars driving to park at the arboretum.  IF NEEDED - you CAN walk to get to your car, but there is no shoulder and you would be walking across some properties.
***NOTE:  For those of you unfamiliar - Forge Road rounds a bend and becomes Painter Road***

TIME:  7:30am @ St. George's parking lot.  We need to be at Tyler by 7:45am!!  Race registration begins at 8am.

SEE YOU SATURDAY!!"
Fun Run Attendance Totals

As many of you know, I have been updating the web site with the Fun Run attendance totals for the past several years.  Janet Smith has agreed to start doing this as I have started to back off of some of the duties I've been doing.  Yes, this is why we would like more people to take the initiative to come out to our Board Meetings and to volunteer to make the club even better than it is.

I will still be collecting attendance when I am at the runs.  When I am not, please forward the attendance for each Fun Run to Janet at [email protected].

Thanks for all of your support and please continue to do so for Janet.

Trail Runs at Swathmore

Calling all trail runners and wannabes!  Daylight savings time has begun.  What that means for a few of us, is that our Wednesday night fun runs have taken a detour into the Swathmore and Smedley trails.  All are welcome.  We will be running at a relaxed pace for a few weeks, marking the trails.  This is a good time to come out and get to know the trails.  Yes, you will get muddy, stuck by stickers, get scratched up a little, and on occasion, take a spill.  But what is life if you don't have a reason to get back up?  BORING!!

In addtion to just being great fun and beautiful, running trails will make you a better runner.  Yes, it may be a little more difficult at first.  But when you hit the hills on the roads, they will seem easier, almost nonexistent!

We hope you will join us!
