Hello Delco RRC |
"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily."
- Zig Ziglar
With this quote in mind - Come out and keep us motivated. We need you, as much as you need us. Come on out to a Fun Run, stinky or not. As for bathing, I can only hope to be in front of those who thought this part was optional. |
Caesar Rodney Carpooling- 3/21/10 |
Carpool for Caesar Rodney race will depart the Springfield Library at 0700 (7am for civilians). You can be a driver or drivee, your choice. I've been told you can register the day of the race so join us if you'd like. The only tough part of the race is getting out of bed. You know the saying, be there or be disappointed that you'll hate yourself in the morning. Yes, I'm talking about running.. |
Tyler Trail Race - 3/27/10 |
Tyler Trail Run is Delco RRC's own 10K Trail run. Join us March 27th for this "fairly" easy trail run. Not very technical and one of the safest trail runs you will ever do. You can register on-line by going to the Tyler Web site at www.tylertrailrun.com. You can also click HERE to download the registration form.
This is a Delco RRC run race. We currently have close to 200 registered, well ahead of last year. We may have to close registration. Sign up now if you want to be sure to get in on this great trail race. This year we are giving away short-sleeve tech shirts in both men's and women's cuts.
Volunteers will be needed so please reach out to Denise Talbot at moxied@comcast.net to volunteer if you can. |
Inspiration |
You may be an inspiration to someone else, without being aware of it. Check this link to find out about a walker who inspires a runner:
There's a man in my local park who's an inspiration to me. I don't know his name and he doesn't know mine. He doesn't know he inspires me. How many other men and women are out there, unaware of their influence on another's life? |

Trail Runs at Swathmore |
Calling all trail runners and wannabes! Daylight savings time has begun. What that means for a few of us, is that our Wednesday night fun runs have taken a detour into the Swathmore and Smedley trails. All are welcome. We will be running at a relaxed pace for a few weeks, marking the trails. This is a good time to come out and get to know the trails. Yes, you will get muddy, stuck by stickers, get scratched up a little, and on occasion, take a spill. But what is life if you don't have a reason to get back up? BORING!!
In addtion to just being great fun and beautiful, running trails will make you a better runner. Yes, it may be a little more difficult at first. But when you hit the hills on the roads, they will seem easier, almost nonexistent!
We hope you will join us!

Good Eats |
Steak with Chile Key Lime Sauce
1 pound skirt steak, cut into pieces
1/4 cup fresh Key lime juice
3 tablespoons Asian fish sauce
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 large shallot, thinly sliced
1 fresh serrano chile, chopped (about 2 teaspoons; including seeds)
Preheat broiler or grill. (If grilling, keep steak whole.) Pat steak dry and season with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Broil on a broiler pan 4 to 6 inches from heat, turning once, about 6 minutes total for medium-rare. Transfer steak to a cutting board and let rest 5 minutes before slicing. While steak rests, stir together remaining ingredients until sugar has dissolved. Serve sliced steak with sauce. Goes great with steamed brown rice. |
