Delco Road Runners Club Mission

| Upcoming Races - 3/27/10 and 4/17/10 |
Tyler Trail Run is Delco RRC's own 10K Trail run. Join us March 27th for this "fairly" easy trail run. Not very technical and one of the safest trail runs you will ever do. You can register on-line by going to the Tyler Web site at www.tylertrailrun.com. You can also click HERE to download the registration form.
Gener8tion Run - is the signature fundraising event of Students Run Philly Style, the only program in Philadelphia that helps youth go farther through mentorship and long distance running. Delco RRC has been sponsoring SRPS for the past several years.
This is an 8K Run or a .8K Walk. Race starts at 3pm in front of the Please Touch Museum, 4231 Avenue of the Republic, Phila., PA 19131. There will be a Health and Wellness Fair from 1 - 5pm.

| Binder-stine Olympics Party: Yes? Wii? |
Amy + John will be hosting an Olympics party on Saturday, Feb. 27, starting at 5ish. Why the early start? There's lots to see on TV, and a Wii tournament is likely to break out for a change in action. The address is 254 Clover Circle, Media, right next to Linvilla Orchards. Please let them know you're coming by emailing Amy at amy@amyink.com.
Also, if you can lend a pair of Wii controllers for the night, we can have a real competition. Email Amy to let them know if you can help. |

Morning Glory Muffins
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups grated carrots
1 apple - peeled, cored, and chopped
1 cup raisins
1 egg
2 egg whites
1/2 cup apple butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons toasted wheat germ
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly oil 18 muffin cups, or coat with nonstick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, egg whites, apple butter, oil and vanilla. In a large bowl, stir together flours, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir in carrots, apples and raisins. Stir in apple butter mixture until just moistened. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling them about 3/4 full. In a small bowl, combine walnuts and wheat germ; sprinkle over the muffin tops. Bake at 375 for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the tops are golden and spring back when lightly pressed.
