Hello Delco RRC

"How long should you try?  Until."
                     - Jim Rohn

With this quote in mind - Keep trying.  We're here for you.  Join us on one of our many Fun Runs.  We'll try with you.
2009 Run/Attendance Totals

2009 Run/Attendance totals are now posted on our home page.  Click HERE to view the .pdf file.  Some of the numbers out there:  65 Club Members had 10 or more runs.  Top Female was Noreen Beresford who attended 118 Fun Runs and top male was Byron Mundy with (WOW!!!) 212 Fun Runs attended.  Three females attended 100 or more Fun Runs and six males attended 100 or more.  The most well-attended Fun Run day is Wednesday in Swarthmore which averaged 21 runners per and had a top attendance of 34 back in August.  Just a reminder that all Club Members with 10 or more Fun Runs attended will recieve a special gift in a few months.  Not sure what that will be yet but Byron Mundy will take care of it as he does every year.
Meet Cécile Daurat-Thompson

Cecile joined out club back in January 09 but has only recently started running with the club at our Fun Runs.  She is a welcomed edition to the Club and we enjoy having her around.  This person is a very good runner and, it seems, cyclist.  Cecile keeps a running blog which she said I could share with the Club.  I very much enjoyed reading her blog, I hope you also will.  Click on the link to see her blog.  http://cdaurat.blogspot.com.

This picture of Cecile is her sitting in my car just prior to tackling (for her and I) the 15.25 Mile Phunt Run.

Sweetie's is a unique restaurant that serves up sweet and savory pies for
breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our savory pies come paired with fresh made
soup or a salad and are a deliciously satisfying and healthy meal. Our
concept, like our food is simple. Fresh local ingredients, organic and
humanely raised dairy and eggs, combined daily for optimal freshness and
flavor. We offer good, healthy food, at a reasonable price, including a
children's menu. In addition to pies, we also offer cakes, cookies,
cupcakes, sweet and savory bread pudding, rice pudding, and muffins.
Fair-trade coffee, cappucino and fresh brewed teas are staples at Sweetie's.

Hope to see you!
Heather

Book Club

Next book club will be held Denise Talbot's House on Sunday January 10th.
The book selected is The Help by Kathryn Stockett, 2009, 464 pages

Be prepared to meet three unforgettable women: Twenty-two-year-old Skeeter has just returned home after graduating from Ole Miss. She may have a degree, but it is 1962, Mississippi, and her mother will not be happy till Skeeter has a ring on her finger. Skeeter would normally find solace with her beloved maid Constantine, the woman who raised her, but Constantine has disappeared and no one will tell Skeeter where she has gone.
Aibileen is a black maid, a wise, regal woman raising her seventeenth white child. Something has shifted inside her after the loss of her own son, who died while his bosses looked the other way. She is devoted to the little girl she looks after, though she knows both their hearts may be broken.
Minny, Aibileen's best friend, is short, fat, and perhaps the sassiest woman in Mississippi. She can cook like nobody's business, but she can't mind her tongue, so she's lost yet another job. Minny finally finds a position working for someone too new to town...
