Membership Activities
Membership activities have been the main focus for Region III this fall. At Central Florida a multi-faceted membership drive is in progress, and continues until September 30. As part of the drive, CF President Charles Dassance wrote an individual letter asking potential members to join FACC. Current board members are making follow-up visits to these same potential members. And as an incentive to join, one new member who signed up during this time period will be randomly selected to win $50 gift card and free day off work. As of today, more than 30 new members have signed up as part of the drive. Daytona has also been promoting membership. With classes resuming Aug. 30, faculty and staff were invited to attend a welcome back address by Dr. Sharples (Wednesday, Aug. 18). With more than 600 faculty/staff expected to attend it was a perfect opportunity to promote FACC at Daytona State. Chapter President, Allie Ryan and soon to be Membership Chair, Dr. Theresa Moore, handed out tootsie rolls and encouraged visitors to the FACC information table to enter a free drawing to win a bag of FACC swag and learn more about the organization. At Brevard Mr. Michael Brawer, Executive Director/CEO attended the faculty/staff welcome back and provided an update. Approximately 10 New members were signed up immediately following his visit. Valencia has also been busy and held a membership drive on August 25th at their Academic Assembly. To encourage membership they held a drawing and everyone who joined received 2 free entries. They have a big basket of random things that have been donated, and as a fundraiser are also selling tickets for $1 to those who are already members. Valencia had about 10 - 15 new members sign up during this drive.Valencia is also having member appreciation Bagels & Coffee in September; and will be hosting one on each campus for 8 days. The Seminole chapter is busy gearing up for a big time Membership Drive in September and we are looking forward to a report from them before Convention. |
