Licensing Exam Review
The Institute for Massage Education is pleased to offer a workshop to assist with the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx) that all massage therapists will be required to take. The cost is $50.
The workshop includes:
- a comprehensive study guide;
- a two-hour workshop on test taking with specific emphasis on the details of taking the MBLEx;
- three one-hour Q&A Discussion groups;
- unlimited online access to instructors for questions.
First Test Taking Workshop is June 15, 2011, 6 - 8 p.m.
Q&A's are on the following Wednesdays from 6 - 7 pm:
- June 29: AP, Pathology, Kinesiology, Contraindications;
- July 6: Assessment, Documentation, Treatment Planning, Benefits of Bodywork
- July 13: Business, Ethics, Boundaries, Regulations

 Upcoming Continuing Education Classes at IME
Upper Body Sports Massage workshop
July 9 - 10, 9 am - 5 pm
This two-day seminar (14 contact hours) will focus on the muscles and common conditions of the upper body. Techniques will incorporate movement and stretching to quickly and effectively address sports-related problems. You will also learn essential orthopedic assessment tests to identify the causes of sports injuries. In addition, information on how to market to athletes and sporting groups will be introduced, so you will leave this course with a plan on how to market yourself to the ideal sporting group for you. Participants will learn proven therapeutic stretching and deep tissue manual therapy techniques to effectively release the muscles of the upper body. Techniques taught will allow you to deliver deep pressure without significant stress on your hands or fingers.

Student Clinic Massages Offered Saturdays at the Institute for Massage Education
To make an appointment for a Saturday Student Clinic, call 269-373-0910
The Institute for Massage Education at KCHA offers 50-minute full-body massages to the general public. This is a great opportunity to receive massage at a greatly reduced rate.
Students near the completion of their training at the Institute perform the massages. The fee is $30 per session, with 10 percent off for senior citizens or students with a valid I.D. There is no charge for alumni of the Institute for Massage Education at KCHA.
You will need to bring a twin size sheet set, pillow with pillowcase and a blanket.
